This 3-day luxury Murchison Falls safari takes you through Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest national park that protects a large chunk of untamed African savannah plains. The park is bisected by the mighty river Nile from the east to the west, as it connects to Lake Albert.

On this tour, you will have the opportunity to visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary at Nakasongola for the famous rhino trekking tour in Uganda. Rhino tracking in Uganda can only be done here at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Afterwards, you will then visit Murchison Falls National Park for an amazing wildlife encounter.

3-Day Luxury Murchison Falls Safari Itinerary: –

Day 1: Kampala – Murchison Falls

Our guide picks you up from your hotel or place of residence in Kampala at 7:30am and begin the panoramic drive north-west through the famous Luwero Triangle and Masindi Town to start off with a morning drive to Murchison via Masindi. Branch off for a visit to Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for a guided Rhino walk and picnic lunch. Continue to Murchison Falls. Enjoy the sunset as you return to the lodge.

Overnight stay and dinner at Bakers’ Lodge Murchison (high-end). Meal plan breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day 2: Murchison Falls

Begin the day with a cup of African coffee, and then proceed for a game drive in the park. Elephants, Cape buffaloes, Rothschild’s giraffes, Uganda kobs, hartebeest and waterbuck are common sightings. You may also spot oribis, bushbucks, Bohor reedbucks, bush duiker, warthogs and bush pigs. Large carnivores that include lions, leopards and spotted hyenas can also be spotted.

After lunch, you will go for a boat safari upstream the calm Victoria Nile to the base of Murchison Falls stopping just tens of meters from the “Devil’s Cauldron”. En-route, you will marvel at the toothsome hippos, crocodiles, elephants, waterbucks and kobs, over this 17 km stretch.

This is also a zone of many bird species such as Goliath heron, Egyptian goose, pelican bee-eater, kingfisher, hornbill, cormorants and the rare shoebill stork.

There, you will leave the boat and start your – quite heavy – hike to the top of the falls (for approx. 1 hour), to see where the world’s longest river explodes violently through a narrow cleft in the Rift Valley escarpment, to plunge into a frothing pool of about 43m below. Your driver/guide will be waiting for you to bring you back to the lodge.

Overnight stay and dinner at Bakers’ Lodge Murchison (high-end). Meal plan breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day 3: Murchison Falls – Kampala Entebbe Out

Wake up at 6:00 am prepared to take photos of the African rising sun in the morning and enjoy African breakfast. Return to Kampala with your lunch enroute where you will be dropped off to a place of your residence or Entebbe Airport at leisure for your flight to the next destination or back home.
