4-Day Luxury Murchison Falls Safari Itinerary: –

Day 1: Kampala – Murchison Falls

Our guide picks you up from your hotel or place of residence in Kampala at 7:30 am and begins the panoramic drive north-west through the famous Luwero Triangle and Masindi Town. Branch off for a visit to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a guided rhino trekking walk and picnic lunch, before continuing to Murchison Falls while enjoying the sunset as you get to your lodge.

Dinner and overnight stay at Chobe Safari Lodge (high-end). Meal plan lunch and dinner.

Day 2: Full Day Game in Murchison Falls

Today is dedicated for a full day game drive experience in the park, so your guide will help you spot elephants, lions, Cape buffaloes, Rothschild’s giraffes, hartebeests, waterbucks, oribis, bushbucks, Bohor reedbucks, hyenas, and if you are lucky, the elusive leopard.

Dinner and overnight stay at Chobe Safari Lodge (high-end). Meal plan: breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day 3: Murchison Falls

After your cup of coffee ready for a soft drive heading to Paraa Safari Lodge at your convenience with game viewing and photography enroute.

After lunch, you will go for a boat safari upstream the calm Victoria Nile to the base of Murchison Falls stopping just tens of meters from the “Devil’s Cauldron”. En-route, you will marvel at the toothsome hippos, crocodiles, elephants, waterbucks and kobs, over this 17 km stretch.

This is also a zone of many bird species such as Goliath heron, Egyptian goose, pelican bee-eater, kingfisher, hornbill, cormorants and the rare shoebill stork.

There, you will leave the boat and start your – quite heavy – hike to the top of the falls (for approx. 1 hour), to see where the world’s longest river explodes violently through a narrow cleft in the Rift Valley escarpment, to plunge into a frothing pool of about 43m below. Your driver/guide will be waiting for you to bring you back to the lodge.

Day 4: Murchison Falls – Kampala Entebbe Out

Wake up at 6:00 am prepared to take photos of the African rising sun in the morning and enjoy African breakfast. Return to Kampala with your lunch enroute where you will be dropped off to a place of your residence or Entebbe Airport at leisure for your flight to the next destination or back home. Meal plan breakfast and lunch.

The other safari sections across Uganda are the interesting chimpanzee tracking tour in Kibale Forest National Park and the search for tree-climbing lions in the Ishasha wilderness of Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will also visit Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for an amazing gorilla trekking safari and then end with a Lake Mburo National Park tour.
