4-Day Flying Murchison Falls & Nile Delta Tour Itinerary: –

Day 1: Entebbe-Fly to Murchison Falls

Our guide picks you up from your hotel or place of residence in Entebbe or Kampala ready for a transfer to Entebbe International Airport to catch up with your safari flight to Pakuba Airstrip in Murchison Falls National Park. The flight departs Entebbe at 12:30 pm before arriving at Pakuba or Bugungu Airstrip at 13:30 pm.

You will enjoy the aerial views of Murchison Falls National Park before arriving. Then you will be transferred to your waiting safari land cruiser for a mini en-route game drive to your safari lodge, for an evening relaxation and sightseeing around your lodge.

Overnight stay and dinner at Bakers’ Lodge Murchison or Paraa Safari Lodge (high-end). Meal plan breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day 2: Murchison Falls

Begin the day with a cup of African coffee, and then proceed for a game drive in the park. Elephants, Cape buffaloes, Rothschild’s giraffes, Uganda kobs, hartebeest and waterbuck are common sightings. You may also spot oribis, bushbucks, Bohor reedbucks, bush duiker, warthogs and bush pigs. Large carnivores that include lions, leopards and spotted hyenas can also be spotted.

After lunch, you will go for a boat safari upstream the calm Victoria Nile to the base of Murchison Falls stopping just tens of meters from the “Devil’s Cauldron”. En-route, you will marvel at the toothsome hippos, crocodiles, elephants, waterbucks and kobs, over this 17 km stretch.

This is also a zone of many bird species such as Goliath heron, Egyptian goose, pelican bee-eater, kingfisher, hornbill, cormorants and the rare shoebill stork.

There, you will leave the boat and start your – quite heavy – hike to the top of the falls (for approx. 1 hour), to see where the world’s longest river explodes violently through a narrow cleft in the Rift Valley escarpment, to plunge into a frothing pool of about 43m below. Your driver/guide will be waiting for you to bring you back to the lodge.

Overnight stay and dinner at Bakers’ Lodge Murchison or Paraa Safari Lodge (high-end). Meal plan breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day 3:  Boat ride along the Nile Delta Murchison Falls

After your morning breakfast, you will get ready for a boat trip to the Nile Delta which takes you between 4-5hrs. This is one of the most interesting experiences in Murchison Falls National Park, taking you through the extensive papyrus delta and the Victoria Nile which flows into Lake Albert. Here, again there are plenty of animals and birds to see with an excellent chance of seeing the rare Shoebill. The afternoon is spent relaxing at your Lodge.

Overnight stay and dinner at Bakers’ Lodge Murchison or Paraa Safari Lodge (high-end). Meal plan breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day 4: Fly from Murchison Falls – Entebbe Out

Wake up at 6:00 am prepared to take photos of the African rising sun in the morning and enjoy African breakfast. Return to Kampala with your lunch enroute where you will be dropped off to a place of your residence or Entebbe Airport at leisure for your flight to the next destination or back home. Meal plan breakfast and lunch.

The other safari sections across Uganda are the interesting chimpanzee tracking tour in Kibale Forest National Park and the search for tree-climbing lions in the Ishasha wilderness of Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will also visit Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for an amazing gorilla trekking safari and then end with a Lake Mburo National Park tour.
