Rooms and amenities at Nguse River Camp

The Camp accommodates visitors in its simple but clean air-conditioned rooms that provide jaw-dropping views of the surrounding hills. Each of the rooms has a work desk and chair, a comfortable bed draped with a mosquito net, a private veranda for relaxing while enjoying views of the surroundings. There is a private bathroom with a shower and flushing toilet, a unique sink made of wood, and a spacious sitting area.

Facilities and services

There is an amazing restaurant at Nguse River Camp which is mostly used as a lunch stop for travelers connecting to Kibale Forest and Queen Elizabeth National Parks or when traveling along the Hoima-Fort Portal highway. Delicious meals, cold drinks, and freshly brewed coffee and teas are served in a clean and serene environment.

Guests are sometimes treated to campfires and barbeque in the evenings to unwind and share stories of their safari experiences. There is also an ample space for private parking and camping.

Activities provided to Nguse River Camp visitors

Nguse River Camp visitors can undertake guided nature walks to River Nguse to learn about the different fish species and how the local people catch fish which is an important source of protein. There are also lots of bird species to see and listen to their sweet melodies.

Campfires are set for the Camp visitors, and this is a perfect way to end an eventful evening after your long journey or different activities in Bugoma Forest Reserve.

Nguse River Camp guests have an opportunity of undertaking guided forest walks in Bugoma Forest Reserve. This makes it possible to sight olive baboons, black and white colobus, vervet, blue, red-tailed monkeys, the Ugandan mangabeys, and chimpanzees.

Besides these primates, other species you can expect here include bush elephants, side-stripped jackals, golden cats.

While staying at the Camp, it is possible to enjoy forest birding in Bugoma Forest Reserve to see part of the 225 bird species that call the reserve home. While at it, you might see Nahan’s francolins, Little Greenbul, Grey Parrots, Yellow-billed barbets, Western Nicator, Green Hylia, Yellow-throated Tinkerbird, Black-billed Turaco, Speckled Tinkerbird, to mention but a few.
